Position Overview
The Corporate Safety Officer will lead and manage Donjon Marine’s environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs across project sites in the United States. This role is hands-on, field-driven, and essential to promoting a proactive, safety-oriented culture company-wide. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with OSHA and other applicable regulations, drive continuous safety improvement, and serve as a trusted advisor to operations and project management teams.
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee and implement Donjon Marine’s EHS programs at both corporate and project levels.
- Promote a proactive, safety-first culture through coaching, mentoring, and visible field leadership.
- Conduct regular inspections of facilities, equipment, and worksites to identify and correct potential hazards.
- Analyze and interpret occupational illness and injury data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
- Develop and update EHS training programs, materials, and presentations (manuals, PowerPoints, etc.).
- Manage training documentation and maintain comprehensive records of all safety initiatives.
- Interpret and apply OSHA and other regulatory standards to project operations.
- Coordinate and deliver safety training including new hire orientation, fall protection, confined space, LOTO, and respiratory protection.
- Liaise with OSHA and other regulatory officials during inspections or site visits.
- Collaborate with project management and field supervisors to ensure safety compliance across all operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Safety, or related field (preferred). A combination of education and work experience will also be considered in lieu of degree.
- Professional certifications such as CSP or CHST strongly preferred. CHST, CSP, SHSM or other similar Safety certification. Valid Site Safety Training (SST) Supervisor card. OSHA 30-Hour within five years.
- Familiarity with USACE 385 regulations.
- Minimum 8 years of safety management experience within the construction or heavy civil/marine sectors.
- Proven experience developing, implementing, and maintaining corporate safety programs.
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA standards, hazard recognition, and injury management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to interact professionally with all levels of management and regulatory personnel.
- CPR/First Aid, EMT, and OSHA/MSHA Instructor certifications are highly desirable.
- Must be able to access all areas of marine and construction sites in varying climates and conditions.

Compensation and Benefits
Base Salary Range: $130,000-160,000
(Actual compensation will depend on experience, education, and qualifications.)
