Construction Safety Manager

Location: Cincinnati, OH
Duration: 12 Months (Start: March 16, 2025)
Type: 1099 Contractor

Job Details

  • Hourly Rate: $56/HR (local) $49/hr (non-local)
  • Per Diem: $125/Day on seven days if over 50 miles from the project site
  • Completion Bonus: $150/month
  • Pay: Weekly
  • Schedule: M-S 10-12/HR Days, possible Sunday work when needed

Project Scope

The construction safety manager will oversee safety operations for the explosion and fire restoration project to bring production lines back online within the next few months. Scope includes removing damaged lines and installing new high-pressure piping, with extensive stainless welding and basic lifting/rigging.

Initial work will require suits and respirators due to soot and potential chemical hazards.

Qualifications

Candidates must have the following requirements:

  • OSHA 30
  • 5+ years of Chemical plant or food processing plant construction background
  • CPR, Fall protection, LOTO, Confined space

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct project safety inspections and employee orientations
  • Provide safety training as needed
  • Basic safety - toolbox, observe & report, inspections, JHAs.
  • Monitor worksite employees and enforce safety protocols
  • Review and manage safety-related documentation and contractor correspondence
  • Perform additional EHS-related tasks as required

Skills & Knowledge

Skills:

  • Excellent public speaking and communication abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • OSHA outreach training experience (preferred)
  • Professionalism and confidentiality in handling sensitive information

Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of EHS and industry regulatory standards in construction
  • Ability to effectively communicate safety principles and regulations
