What The Position is About:
- Develop, implement, and manage a standardized safety program across multiple locations and operating companies
- Establish and enforce safety policies, procedures, and expectations to ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and other applicable regulations
- Conduct regular jobsite inspections to identify hazards, address unsafe practices, and ensure proper safety protocols are followed
- Lead employee safety training, toolbox talks, new-hire orientations, and ongoing safety education
- Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses, implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences
- Maintain safety documentation, compliance records, and reporting systems while tracking key safety performance metrics
- Partner with field leadership and management to promote accountability and consistent safety practices throughout the organization
- Support workers’ compensation claims, insurance-related safety matters, and loss prevention efforts
- Travel to jobsites and operational facilities across multiple states to oversee safety practices and support field teams
The Right Candidate Will Have:
- 5+ years of safety experience within civil construction or related heavy construction operations
- Experience developing, implementing, and managing safety programs, policies, and procedures across multiple locations
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to earn respect from field crews, address unsafe practices, and hold employees accountable
- Hands-on approach to safety management, including jobsite inspections, hazard identification, and collaboration with field leadership
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and experience with accident investigations, safety training, compliance documentation, and corrective action processes
