Title of Role: Safety Coordinator

East West Tea is seeking a talented, passionate, and experienced Safety Coordinator to join our Operations team!
The Safety Coordinator will support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of our workplace Health & Safety program. Building a culture where every employee feels empowered, supported, and safe, both on and off the job. Partnering with all departments and playing a key role in the Safety Committee to strengthen our safety programs, identify and reduce risks, and create meaningful engagement opportunities that inspire safe choices.

WHAT YOU’LL OWN:
Inspections and Audits 33% of time
- Conduct routine inspections and audits of equipment, work areas, and operational processes to identify hazards and verify control measures
- Assist in incident investigations by gathering facts, conducting root-cause analysis, documenting findings, and tracking corrective actions
Program Administration 34% of time
- Actively participate in and support the Safety Committee, ensuring all meeting requirements, documentation, and follow-up actions are completed
- Assist in the development, documentation, and periodic review of safety programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and continuous improvement
- Support emergency preparedness by assisting with evacuation drills, reviewing response plans, and coordinating with cross-functional teams
- Prepare dashboards, reports, and presentations to communicate safety performance and trends
Employee Engagement 33% of time
- Promote behavior-based safety by engaging employees in safe work practices, encouraging open communication, and reinforcing proactive safety behaviors
- Act as a safety ambassador on the floor, observing and recognizing employees who demonstrate safe behavior
WHAT YOU KNOW AND HAVE EXPERIENCED:
- Associate’s degree OR equivalent work experience in a safety role
- 2+ years of relevant work experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable interacting with employees
