Description

Position Overview:

The Regional Quality Manager is a leadership role responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive quality assurance strategy across the organization. Responsible for the development, implementation, and administration of a corporate Quality Management System (QMS) to fully support strategic objectives and to ensure full compliance with regulatory standards. The role serves as the primary liaison between corporate functions and the manufacturing plant on all quality-related matters, and requires strong leadership, technical acumen, executive presence, and flexibility to thrive in a fast paced, rapidly changing, entrepreneurial environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


Strategic Leadership: 

  • Develop and execute a Regional QA strategy that supports the organization’s business objectives and exceeds customer expectations.
  • Establish and maintain a culture of quality and continuous improvement across the organization.
  • Build trust with manufacturing facility teams by being present, accessible, and engaged in daily challenges across the entire manufacturing footprint.

Quality Systems & Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory standards (i.e. ISO, AS, 21 CFR, ATEX, etc.) in all regions of operation.
  • Support the development and implementation of a corporate Quality Management System (QMS) and cascade to manufacturing locations for standardization.
  • Refine and monitor quality assurance metrics and ensure timely reporting to stakeholders.
  • Process Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and lead initiatives to enhance efficiency and quality yields.
  • Implement data-driven decision making to improve process/product quality and reduce risks.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to address quality issues proactively.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Foster a collaborative environment that promotes innovation, accountability, and professional growth.
  • Ensure the team is equipped with the tools and training necessary to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Supplier and Partner Quality Management:
  • Develop and maintain quality standards for suppliers and third-party partners.
  • Establish standards and format for audits and inspections to ensure adherence to contractual and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with Global Supply Chain team to address non-conformities and implement corrective/preventive actions as needed.

Risk Management:

  • Identify potential process quality risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Lead root cause analyses and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Collaborate with Product Engineering on Warranty and failure analysis.
  • Lead an internal audit program and ensure auditors have proper training and equipment.
  • Establish robust, standardized processes for handling non-conformities and customer complaints.


Position requires >50% travel to domestic and international locations.

Requirements

 Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical field required (master's degree preferred).
  • 7+ years of experience in quality assurance for manufacturing operations, with at least 5 years in leadership roles; experience with aerospace, defense, and/or pharmaceutical/medical devices is a plus.
  • Professional certifications preferred (i.e. CQE/CQA/CQM, etc.).
  • Proven Lean/continuous improvement experience; certifications in Lean, Six Sigma, Operations, or others a plus.
  • Proven expertise in managing quality systems, regulatory compliance, and standards (i.e. ISO, AS, ATEX, GMP, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of industry best practices, quality tools, and risk management frameworks.
  • Experience in working with cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.
  • A “doer” with the ability to mobilize teams quickly to meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficient use of MS Office suite of applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Office365 required.
