Position: Quality Technician I
Location: F137 / Device – Huntley, IL
Shift: 2nd Shift
Hours: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
Pay Rate: $23.64/hour + $0.50 shift differential ($24.14/hour total)
Summary Description
With general supervision, the Quality Technician I monitors product quality by providing feedback, recording inspection results, and quarantining suspect or defective product. This role plays a key part in ensuring compliance with quality standards and customer specifications.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Monitor the production process and collect dimensional data
- Review, understand, and follow inspection control plans
- Train Packers/Inspectors on job-specific quality requirements
- Visually inspect samples from each production job
- Quarantine non-conforming product according to inspection control plans
- Inspect and review statistical data for incoming raw materials
- Provide statistical data as requested
- Prepare labels and Certifications of Compliance (COCs) as required
- Perform other duties as assigned
Level I Responsibilities
- Understand and ensure Minimum Workmanship Requirements
- Understand and use TEQ terminology
- Identify product visual defects
- Ensure proper packing standards
- Ensure proper inspection standards
- Perform in-process inspections according to control plans
- Properly use scales, calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and Magna-Mikes
Machines, Tools, and Equipment
- Thermoforming machines
- Measuring instruments
- Computer and Microsoft Office
Environmental Demands
- Exposure to heat, toxic fumes, greases, and lubricants
Physical and Visual Demands
- Standing, walking, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling throughout the shift
- Reading, writing, and verbal communication required
Experience and Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- One year of previous production line experience preferred
