Position Summary:
· The Quality Technician for the DMR area is responsible for managing the Material Review Board process, ensuring timely and accurate disposition of nonconforming materials and products.
· This role acts as a liaison between Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain to drive resolution of quality issues, maintain compliance with internal procedures and external standards, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
· As well this position plays a key role in supporting the quality assurance function for electronic components and assemblies, investigating nonconforming materials, and performing root cause analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
· Coordinate and facilitate MRB meetings to review and disposition nonconforming materials.
· Maintain accurate records of MRB activities, including NCRs (Non-conformance Reports), dispositions, and corrective actions.
· Ensure timely processing of nonconforming material to minimize production delays.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain) to determine root cause and appropriate disposition (rework, use-as-is, scrap, return to vendor).
· Track and report MRB metrics and trends to support quality improvement efforts.
· Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001), and customer requirements.
· Support internal and external audits related to MRB and non-conformance processes.
· Inspect and evaluate electronic components and assemblies for conformance to specifications.
· Support MRB (Material Review Board) activities by preparing documentation, coordinating meetings, and tracking dispositions.
· Help to perform root cause analysis on quality issues using tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams, and Pareto analysis.
· Assist in implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and verify effectiveness.
· Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, and quality investigations.
· Support internal audits and customer quality requirements.
· Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and quality system enhancements.
Qualifications:
· Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Engineering, Quality, or related field preferred.
· 2+ years of experience in quality assurance, manufacturing, or engineering environment.
· Familiarity with MRB processes, non-conformance handling, and root cause analysis.
· Strong organizational and communication skills.
· Proficiency in ERP and quality management systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
· Knowledge of industry standards such as ISO 9001, AS9100, or similar.
· Knowledge of ESD handling.
Preferred Skills:
· Working knowledge of GD&T, and technical drawings
· Experience in aerospace, automotive, or medical device industries.
· Proficiency in using measurement tools, microscopes, and inspection equipment.
· Working knowledge of ISO 9001, IPC standards, or similar quality frameworks.
· Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
· Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
