SUMMARY

The Quality Manager is responsible for maintaining an ISO 9001 and AS9100 compliant Quality Management System (QMS). The incumbent will ensure products and assemblies meet stringent performance, reliability, safety, and regulatory requirements. This role provides leadership across quality assurance, supplier quality, test and reliability, EHS coordination, and continuous improvement, while supporting new product introductions and operational excellence in an electronics manufacturing environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Own and maintain the QMS in compliance with ISO 9001 and AS9100, including      policies, procedures, records, and process interactions.
  • Ensure effective implementation of risk-based thinking, configuration management, change control, and documented information requirements.
  • Establish and monitor quality objectives and KPIs aligned with organizational goals.
  • Lead management reviews, ensuring data-driven inputs and actionable outputs.
  • Ensure employee awareness and competency relative to QMS requirements.
  • Define and enforce process controls consistent with ISO 9001/AS9100 requirements, including SPC, control plans, and validation activities.
  • Lead structured problem-solving and CAPA using approved methodologies (e.g., 8D, FMEA, RCCA).
  • Drive continual improvement initiatives to improve yield, reliability, and on-time delivery while reducing cost of quality.
  • Define and govern test strategies for electronic products (functional, in-circuit, environmental, and reliability testing) in accordance with customer, regulatory, and AS9100 requirements.
  • Ensure verification and validation activities are planned, executed, and documented.
  • Analyze quality performance data (yield, DPPM, escapes, RMAs, field failures) and      implement corrective actions.
  • Support NPI activities with defined quality gates, risk assessments, and acceptance      criteria.
  • Ensure compliance with configuration management, first article inspection (FAI), and change management requirements where applicable.
  • Establish and maintain supplier quality requirements consistent with ISO      9001/AS9100, including qualification, monitoring, and corrective action processes.
  • Conduct supplier audits and performance reviews; drive closure of supplier-related      CAPAs.
  • Ensure control of externally provided processes, products, and services.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable customer, regulatory, and industry standards, including relevant IPC standards and environmental regulations.
  • Lead internal audits and support customer, registrar, and regulatory audits; ensure timely closure of findings.
  • Maintain effective risk management processes addressing product, process, and      supplier risks.
  • Own EHS oversite to ensure quality processes align with applicable environmental and      occupational safety requirements.
  • Support compliance related to hazardous materials, chemical management, ESD      controls, and waste handling common to electronics manufacturing.
  • Participate in incident investigations and corrective action development related to      quality or safety events.
  • Support EHS audits and ensure corrective actions are implemented and sustained.
  • Promote a culture of compliance, continuous improvement, and operational discipline.
  • Directly supervise quality assurance and quality engineering personnel.
  • Conduct performance reviews, approve schedules and timekeeping, and administer      corrective actions in accordance with company policy.
Requirements

    

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quality, or a related technical discipline; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge and hands-on experience with both ISO 9001 and AS9100 in an electronics or electronics manufacturing environment.
  • 4–6 years of progressive experience in quality management or quality engineering      roles.
  • Experience leading audits, CAPA, management reviews, and QMS implementation or      sustainment.
  • Strong understanding of electronics manufacturing processes, multichip      microelectronic assembly, PCB assembly, and test methodologies.

Preferred

  • Lead Auditor certification (ISO 9001 and/or AS9100).
  • Experience supporting regulated or high-reliability electronics environments.
  • IPC A610, J-STD-001 Certified IPC Trainer.
Salary Description
$100,000- $140,000 DOE
