Quality Director – Your Impact

You will lead the quality organization across highly technical manufacturing operations, overseeing approximately 10 team members with two direct reports. You will:

• Lead, mentor and develop the quality team, raising the technical capability of the function and building strong accountability
• Own and continuously improve the Quality Management System, quality standards, procedures, controls and documentation
• Lead NADCAP accreditation requirements, audits and ongoing compliance
• Get into the technical details with engineering and manufacturing teams to challenge processes, investigate failures and solve complex quality problems
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions for nonconformances, process failures and customer quality issues
• Drive quality throughout the manufacturing process, from incoming materials and supplier quality through production, inspection and final product
• Partner with engineering and manufacturing leadership to improve processes, reduce variability and prevent quality issues before they occur
• Establish and monitor quality metrics, trends and KPIs to identify problems early and drive accountability
• Lead internal, customer, regulatory and certification audits and maintain audit readiness
• Strengthen supplier quality standards, qualification processes and controls and resolve supplier related quality issues
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives that reduce defects, scrap and rework while improving manufacturing consistency
• Build scalable quality processes and controls that support increasing production volume without sacrificing quality
• Teach quality throughout the production organization, helping employees understand the why behind standards and building individual ownership of quality
• Represent quality at the executive table and with customers, suppliers, auditors and other external stakeholders

Quality Director – You Have (Required Skills, Experience & Team Fit)

You have:

• Prior quality leadership experience within aerospace, defense or military manufacturing
• Prior experience with NADCAP accreditation, requirements and audits
• Prior experience leading and developing quality engineers, quality professionals and inspection teams
• Deep knowledge of manufacturing Quality Management Systems, quality standards and process controls
• A collaborative leadership style. You know how to preach and teach quality, influence people and create ownership rather than becoming the quality sheriff
• Availability to work 100% on site in Sacramento, California

You might have:

• Prior experience within space manufacturing, oil and gas, energy or another highly technical, regulated manufacturing environment
• Experience building or significantly strengthening a quality organization during rapid company growth
• Experience supporting new product introduction or manufacturing scale up
• Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma knowledge or certification

Quality Director – Benefits for You

Your compensation will be $200,000 to $220,000 base salary, plus incentive compensation bonus and a full benefits package.

You will work 100% on site in Sacramento, California, alongside the manufacturing, engineering and executive teams you will influence every day.
