Job Description

Mechanical Contractor Safety Manager

Setting/Hours: 100% In-Office | First Shift

Join trak group in partnering with a growing client in Cincinnati, Ohio, that’s expanding its Manufacturing team. 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive safety programs, manuals, and compliance documentation to support organizational standards

  • Implement and enforce safety procedures aligned with regulatory requirements including OSHA, NFPA, ANSI, and ASME

  • Customize safety initiatives to address risks specific to mechanical construction environments, including lockout/tagout, hot work, trenching, confined spaces, and energized systems

Jobsite Safety Oversight:

  • Conduct routine job site inspections and safety audits to ensure compliance and identify potential risks

  • Monitor proper use of PPE, fall protection, and adherence to safe work practices

  • Perform Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and support Pre-Task Safety Planning (PTSP) to proactively address workplace hazards

Training, Coaching & Education:

  • Lead safety orientations for new hires, subcontractors, and temporary workers to ensure a strong foundation in workplace safety

  • Deliver ongoing training programs covering key topics such as fall protection, hazard communication, respiratory safety, welding, and mechanical operations

  • Coordinate and track required certifications including OSHA 10/30, First Aid/CPR, forklift operation, and aerial lift training

Incident Management & Reporting:

  • Investigate near-misses, incidents, and workplace injuries to identify underlying causes

  • Prepare detailed reports, including root-cause analyses and corrective action plans

  • Communicate findings and lessons learned to promote awareness and prevent future occurrences


Regulatory Compliance:

  • Maintain accurate safety and compliance documentation, including OSHA logs, SDS records, inspections, and training materials

  • Prepare for and coordinate regulatory inspections, working with OSHA, fire departments, and insurance representatives


Risk Management & Safety Culture:

  • Participate in pre-construction planning to identify potential hazards and safety risks
  • Provide guidance to project teams on safe work methods, materials, and equipment

  • Promote a proactive safety culture, including the use of Stop Work Authority to prevent incidents


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred, with equivalent experience considered

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and safety management systems

  • Knowledge of mechanical construction equipment such as lifts, cranes, rigging, boilers, and pressurized systems

  • Ability to navigate active job sites, including climbing, confined spaces, and working in various outdoor conditions
