What You Will Do:
Sterile Processing Quality Coordinators provide education and training instructions to the department. Coordinate departmental quality projects and audits with the team input. Maintains and supports the electronic instrument tracking system. Develops and maintains department guidelines, policies and procedures. Monitors effectiveness of efforts, and prepare and present quarterly reports. Attends hospital meetings and shares information with staff and management team. Serves as a consultant representing scope of expertise for all regulatory aspects of Sterile Processing. Participates in regulatory compliance and direct liaison with Infection Prevention and Quality to meet organizational goals.
Candidates will only be considered who have 2 active CRCST/CSPDT/CFER national certificates and/or are a Certified Surgical Technologist. No provisional certifications will be accepted.
What You Will Need:
• May require Associates degree in Health related area (Surgical Technologist, Medical Assisting, Healthcare Administration, etc.).
• Requires national Certified Instrument Specialist certification.
• Requires experience in the operating room and/or sterile processing departments.
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
• Requires CRCST / CSPDT with SP experience, OR completed surgical technology program, OR possesses a related allied health degree with SP experience.
• Must have excellent computer and electronic equipment troubleshooting skills.
• Requires completion of the Sterile Processing preceptor training program within 6 months of hire.
• Requires one-year experience in Sterile Processing or OR; two-years experience preferred.
• May require CIS or CSIP and a 3rd National Certification within 2 years of employment.
