As we continue to grow, we are looking for experienced estimating professionals who are passionate about building the infrastructure that serves California's communities.

 

What You'll Do

As the Safety Manager, you'll oversee safety performance across multiple construction projects while serving as a trusted advisor to project teams and regional leadership.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement regional Safety Action Plans focused on preventing accidents, incidents, and property damage.
  • Create and manage project-specific Health and Safety Plans that meet client and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee daily Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) submissions, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, conduct root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions.
  • Identify safety trends and proactively develop training and preventative measures.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor safety personnel while supporting field supervisors and project managers.
  • Conduct regular field audits and inspections to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies, and client requirements.
  • Ensure crews comply with customer, environmental, and regulatory safety standards.
  • Conduct and oversee daily, weekly, and project-specific safety meetings.
  • Maintain required safety documentation, reports, and inspection records.
  • Support accident investigations, injury reporting, and post-incident response.
  • Administer random and post-accident drug testing in accordance with company policy.
  • Build strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel while promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

 

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a safety leader who combines technical expertise with strong leadership and communication skills.

 

Required Qualifications

  • OSHA 500 or OSHA 510/502 certification (current or obtained within the required timeframe)
  • CHST (Construction Health & Safety Technician) certification
  • Minimum of 5 years of construction safety experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and heavy civil construction safety practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience conducting incident investigations and root cause analyses
  • Ability to develop and deliver safety training programs
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills
  • Ability to work effectively with project managers, field personnel, union employees, clients, and regulatory agencies
  • Willingness to travel approximately 20%, including overnight travel when project needs require

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • HAZWOPER Certification
  • Experience supporting underground utility, trenchless, water/wastewater, or heavy civil construction projects
