If you are a Safety professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Copeland has an exciting opportunity for you! Based out of our Natchitoches, LA location, you will oversee the administration and enforcement of safety programs, regulatory compliance, and company policies to help build and maintain a Zero Incident Culture. Work closely with the Safety Engineer and Facility Nurse, you will help lead, model, and strengthen a positive workplace safety culture. This position acts as a key link between management and employees, supporting engagement and ensuring a safe working environment for all.

AS A SAFETY COORDINATOR, YOU WILL:

  • Provide support to the Safety Engineer and serve as point of contact in their absence for day-to-day safety coordination needs

  • Maintain and organize plant safety action data in Velocity

  • Coordinate and deliver safety training sessions (e.g., new hire orientation, emergency response, hazard communication, etc.)

  • Support compliance with OSHA regulations and internal safety policies

  • Organize safety meetings, toolbox talks, and engagement activities to promote safety awareness

  • Conduct audits, inspections, and observations to ensure compliance with rules, regulations, and procedures

  • Track and report safety metrics, including incidents, near-misses, corrective actions, and compliance audits

  • Assist in safety investigations and follow-up on corrective actions

  • Manage and maintain safety communication boards, signage, and PPE inventory

  • Collaborate with operations teams to improve workplace ergonomics and hazard identification

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to complete safety projects in a timely manner

  • Support the development and implementation of safety policies and procedures

  • Contribute to the deployment of safety initiatives that support a Zero Incident Culture

SCHEDULE:

Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. May require flexibility to support production schedules or urgent safety matters.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

  • Associate's degree in occupational safety, management, or a related field

  • Experience working in a manufacturing setting

  • Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

  • Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this position.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, management, or a related field

  • Experience with Velocity EHS software

  • OSHA 10 or 30-hour certification

  • 1–3 years of safety-related experience in a manufacturing environment

About Our Location

Alliance Compressors LLC develops, manufactures, and markets one through six-ton scroll compressors. Scroll compressors are used in commercial and residential air conditioning units. The current facility is over 365,000 square feet of manufacturing space and over 35,000 square feet of office space. This climate-controlled facility is the third-largest manufacturing business in the area, and offers its 600+ employees many opportunities for advancement.
