How you'll contribute
A Risk Management and Quality Director who excels in this role:
- Directs departmental activities and resources to achieve departmental and organizational objectives.
- Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards that align with the organization's clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements and objectives.
- Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technology systems, service-level management, and complaint resolution, to achieve performance and quality objectives.
- Plans and oversees staffing activities, including hiring, onboarding, performance evaluations, corrective actions, and continuing education initiatives.
- Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets; ensures compliance with allocated funding; and coordinates and directs internal and external audits.
- Creates and fosters an environment that encourages professional growth and development.
- Integrates evidence-based practices into operational processes and clinical protocols.
- Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
- Serves internal stakeholders and external customers, clients, patients, contractors, and vendors.
- Accesses and works with sensitive and confidential information.
- Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulations and compliance requirements, including HIPAA.
- Manages the work of others by planning, assigning, scheduling, and reviewing work; ensuring quality standards are met; and overseeing hiring, termination, training, development, performance evaluations, and corrective actions for staff.
- Minimum overnight travel (up to 10%) by land and/or air.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
What we’re looking for
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred. Applicable work experience may be used in lieu of education.
Skills & Experience:
- Skilled in the application of policies and procedures. Knowledge of Business Office Standards and Recommended Practices.
- Business Mathematical Skills -- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and to draw and interpret graphs.
- Moderate Computer Skills -- Frequent use of electronic mail, word processing, data entry, spreadsheets, graphics, etc. Ability to create, maintain and incorporate simple functions into documents, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations to support business objectives.
- Complex Communication -- Frequently communicates complex information and interacts with management. Can present, resolve, and address delicate situations. Ability to motivate and persuade others.
- Varied Business Problems -- Problems are varied and complex, requiring analysis or interpretation of the situation. Problems are solved using knowledge and skills, general precedent and practices.
