Reliability Quality Technician
ForgentThe Reliability Quality Technician is responsible for ensuring that returned transformers comply in a timely matter with internal RMA (Return Material Authorization) process. This role supports products, process, and system documentation throughout the diagnose / repair lifecycle.
Essential functions & Key Responsibilities
· Participate in the Tier II and scheduling daily meetings to follow up on RMAs (Return Material Authorizations).
· Take pictures of incoming RMAs to record the received condition, tag and label them.
- Inspect the returned transformers (RMAs) upon arrival to record any defects for the purpose of feedback the Quality Auditors, and Production.
- Update the RMA status tracker daily.
- Work closely with SCM (material dates), Engineering (BOMs), Production, SIOP, Project Managers.
- Follow up on the returned transformers during the repair / rebuild stages.
- Shadow the Tanking and Testing departments during the diagnose stage.
- Be part of the internal audit team and support external audits performed by customers, registrars, and regulatory agencies.
- Participate in the quality management system improvement initiatives as necessary.
- Assist the final inspections of the RMAs before they shipped.
· Ability to perform TTR, Resistance, Insulation resistance, oil sampling, and other minor tests.
· Assist with the teardown of field failures and coils.
2. Qualifications
- 3 years’ experience in Quality, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, and related technical discipline.
- Fundamental knowledge of electric circuits and electrical apparatus.
- Knowledge of quality management systems and manufacturing quality principles.
- Familiarity with quality tools including Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions /Preventive Actions.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Experience with product adherence to ISO, and IEEE standards, procedures, and regulations through appropriate quality tests.
- Previous oversight of the maintenance of quality documentation, such as SOPs.
- Preferred Certifications: ASQ Certified Quality Technician (CQT); ISO 9001 Internal Auditor Certification.
- Understanding of transformer manufacturing processes and/or electrical equipment assembly is a plus.

· Regular interaction with production areas
· Constant presence on the production floor.
· Ability to lift moderate weights and climb ladders when required.
· Exposure to industrial environment including noise and oil handling areas.
