Responsible for assisting in quality auditing process across all shifts and all processes. Leads daily and weekly quality audits to include reporting results to the leadership team. This also requires a flexible schedule to interface with the night shift production teams.

Responsible for ensuring all quality documentation is up-to-date and current

Responsible for maintaining training records
Responsible for maintaining the Skill Block process (creating materials, testing and demonstrations).
Ensures that all documents pertaining to New Hire development are being completed.
Responsible to manage recertification of quality professionals on a defined cadence as directly by quality manager
Responsible to ensure that all quality professionals are completing tasks by procedure
Will be the primary backup for On Shift Quality Lead* at the discretion of the Quality Manager
Monitor and audit tasks. Suggest and implement ideas for improvement by elimination any safety hazards, reducing cycle time, and ensuring accurate results of any task
New Product Development Quality Liaison
Point of contact for all R&D trials run at Winchester Site
Setup any trials run at plant including aligning expectations with entire quality on every aspect of the trial
Responsible for coordination and execution of first articles
Responsible to execute any trials requested by quality leadership
Develop and implement quality visual standards from new product development into quality plant system
Auditing coordinator
Ensuring safe launch audits are implemented as needed
Monitoring and reporting of currently implemented audits
Coordinating and execution of any emerging issues audits that are required
On shift Quality Lead Backup
Work with crew leadership to ensure we are meeting visual and dimensional quality documented in quality standards
Ensures crew leadership is adequately notified of any quality issues and/or failures regarding the results of all quality testing
Responsible for solving escalated disagreements between production and QC on visual or dimensional quality checks
Responsible for providing guidance for quality issues on crew as issues as arise from quality technicians
Responsible for addressing and resolving all quality department equipment and computer issues on crew
Provides training to all quality technicians when changes to existing procedures are made or new procedures are implemented
Ensures that quality technicians are following standardized work and procedures for completing job duties and QC testing
Coaching of quality technicians when performance issues arise
Leads daily decking and railing quality audits including documentation and reporting of results. Responsible for containment and follow-up if issue discovered during quality audits. Communication to other crew quality lead as follow-up
Set up crew assignments for quality technicians in positions each shift and document
Manage and schedule OT coverage for any vacation, e-vacations, graces, etc.. working with QC lead counterpart on opposite shift (ie A/B, C/D). Update crew vacation calendar with coverage
Ensure management of any material put on hold from previous shift is testing or retesting and disposition decision is made (passed or failed). QC lead to complete visual on any material put on hold from previous shift
Facilitate skill block testing and demos of Quality Technicians when required
Complete walk-a-bouts through all three buildings, touching base with quality personnel about any previous or current quality issues
Ensure maintaining of 5S of all labs
For any material put on hold (3 or more bundles), investigate and follow-up to ensure QC techs are completing required checks (hourly, ½ hour) and verification communication was made to Quality Lead and production crew leadership on any failures
Technical subject matter for development and implementation of quality related systems, equipment, and projects on the site including the following
Capital project scope development and implementation
Sample system management develop and improvement
Supply and tool continuous improvement leader to support quality staff
Troubleshoot any escalated quality related issues that can not be resolved by QC leads and QC supervisors.
Responsible for development, implementation, and continuous improvement of quality measurement methods including new technologies (ie. Vision Systems, etc.) working with quality engineers
Support inline monitoring quality and/or process instrumentation
Responsible for assist withing gathering, interpreting and disseminating information such as:
Customer quality complaint data collection and analysis.
Field quality-related issue resolution.
Competitor data collection and dissemination of quality benchmarking information.
Responsible for EQ calibration and verification systems.
Miscellaneous responsibilities as needed
Lead continuous improvement projects when needed
Complete any additional tasks as directed by Quality Manager, Supervisor, or Engineer
Fills in for weekly or daily tier production meetings if needed to cover Quality Manager
Qualifications include:
Must currently be a previous or current QC lead and possess high technical & training abilities.
Must possess basic Microsoft Office skills.
Must know how to do basic trouble shooting for ILM systems
Must have the ability to present information to groups of people effectively
High school Diploma or Equivalent required; Associate’s Degree preferred
A minimum of 7 years of manufacturing and / or quality experience within a manufacturing plant
Effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills
A hands-on, technically proficient orientation
Proven accuracy and excellent attention to detail
Strong organizational and communication skills
Self starter, can drive resolution to issues with little to no direction
Demonstrated leadership abilities in a self-directed team manufacturing environment
Comfortable delivering information on a one-on-one basis as well as groups.
Must be able to articulate information accurately and effectively, orally and in writing.
Technical acumen to train for all functional processes on site, but they must also demonstrate a passion for training and developing others. Must have the soft skills and approachability necessary to create rapport and make new hires feel welcome.
