Responsibilities

Position Summary:

 

Henkels & McCoy is looking for a talented individual to work in the company’s Quality Assurance and Control program; to inspect completed power construction projects, review and edit inspection checklists, instruct on adherence to customer standards and ensure customer satisfaction with H&M Quality Programs and Construction Controls.

 

The best fit candidate is one with a construction and QA/QC background who can inspect/evaluate work performed by field crews and processes to ensure compliance with established specifications and standards.  Additionally, must be a problem solver through effective communication and explaining the benefits of “First Time Quality” along with interacting well with geographically dispersed semi-autonomous groups throughout the region.

 

Responsibilities: 

 

Work closely with Quality manager, West Region Leaders, and partner with H&M lines of business (Power, Underground, Telecom) management and craft employees to:

  • Be a catalyst in promoting Quality Management Systems. (20%)
  • Build and enhance quality management systems focused on customer satisfaction, business process standardization, reliability and effectiveness. (20%)
  • Teach, practice, develop & improve the company Quality focus. (20%)
  • Develop Quality Checklists which achieve organizational goals.
  • Build Quality plans with Plan, Do, Check, Act elements and A3 Thinking that meet customer requirements in support of the H&M PMM system. (10%)
  • Report improvement projects status to plans at regular intervals. (10%)
  • Help to develop, roll-out, and administer a Quality initiatives and facilitate training on programs and technology related to Quality. (10%)
  • Promote the Quality innovation success stories and results achieved across the region. (10%)

Qualifications

  • 4-year college degree preferred.
  • Electrical Power Lineman or construction experience is required
  • Visio, digital imaging, CAD drawing and/or ability to review technical drawings is required.
  • Construction Management degree, a plus.
  • Project Management, Safety, Quality work experience/certifications, a plus.
  • Bidding, Estimating, and Contracting work experience, a plus.
  • In depth knowledge of Quality System (ISO etc.) a plus.
  • Experience presenting to or training adults on technical concepts, a plus.
  • Track and record KPI data to monitor program effectiveness
  • Computer skills- MS Office applications required.
