Job Description:
Are you a strategic quality leader who is passionate about developing teams, strengthening quality systems, and driving measurable improvements across manufacturing operations? We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead the Quality function at our Reading facility and help build a culture centered on accountability, customer focus, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
Reporting to the Plant Manager, this role leads a team of three and has broad influence across the site and North American operations. You will shape plant quality strategy, strengthen management systems, improve process capability, partner directly with customers, and drive initiatives that reduce risk and enhance overall plant performance. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader who can move seamlessly between strategy, people leadership, technical problem-solving, and customer engagement.
What You’ll Do
Lead Quality Strategy & Develop the Team
- Lead, coach, and develop the site Quality organization, including staffing, performance management, and capability building
- Establish and execute the plant’s Quality strategy aligned with North American and corporate objectives
- Foster a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement across all functions
- Lead selected Americas Quality projects and initiatives requiring cross-functional and cross-site collaboration
Own Quality Systems & Compliance
- Own and continuously improve the site’s Business Excellence System (BES)
- Ensure quality systems remain effective, sustainable, and aligned with applicable standards and business requirements
- Support compliance with frameworks such as ISO 9001, ISO 13485, ISO 17025, AS9100, and RC 14001
- Serve as the primary site contact for customer and third-party audits
- Maintain the integrity of quality policies, procedures, records, and regulatory documentation
Drive Performance & Continuous Improvement
- Define, monitor, and report key quality KPIs, including defects, Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ), customer complaints, and audit findings
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective and preventive action (CAPA) efforts
- Drive Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement initiatives
- Use SPC, statistical analysis, and data-driven problem-solving to identify trends, reduce risk, and improve performance
Champion Customer Quality
- Serve as the primary quality liaison for customers, including issue resolution and site visits
- Ensure timely and effective responses to customer complaints and returns
- Partner across departments to troubleshoot issues and improve product and process performance
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders while maintaining a customer-focused approach
Lead Audit & Governance Programs
- Lead internal audit programs across North American sites
- Ensure effective documentation, reporting, corrective action, and follow-up of audit findings
- Support customer, third-party, and regulatory audit readiness
- Promote consistent quality practices and best-practice sharing across the organization
Strengthen Product & Process Quality
- Ensure raw materials and finished goods meet specifications and applicable compliance requirements
- Provide oversight of laboratory operations and testing methods, as applicable
- Support product compliance initiatives related to REACH, RoHS, industry-specific requirements, and other regulatory standards
- Partner with Operations and other functions to improve manufacturing performance and reduce quality risk
Build Quality Capability Across the Organization
- Facilitate quality awareness and education throughout the site and broader North American organization
- Provide training in Quality Assurance, problem-solving, auditing, and Quality Systems
- Promote best-practice sharing in quality systems, continuous improvement, metrology, and statistical applications
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Business, or a related field desired
- 5–10 years of quality leadership experience within a manufacturing environment
- 2+ years of supervisory or people leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems, SPC, root cause analysis, and CAPA methodologies
- Experience with ISO and regulatory compliance frameworks
- Strong understanding of product compliance requirements and the ability to assess compliance, conduct reviews, and provide organizational guidance
- Experience with Microsoft Office, MRP systems, and Minitab
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex priorities
- Strong influencing skills with the ability to work effectively across functions, locations, and organizational levels
Preferred Qualifications
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt
- American Society for Quality certifications such as CQA, CQE, or CQM
- Experience with ISO 9001, ISO 13485, ISO 17025, AS9100, or RC 14001
- Product compliance knowledge related to REACH, RoHS, Clean Water Act requirements, or industry-specific regulations
Travel
- Approximately 10–25% travel
- Travel may include other Americas facilities, customer locations, and suppliers
- Some international travel may be required

The salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $130,000.00 USD Annual. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
