Sanitation/Quailty Coordinator Job Description

Summary:

Reporting directly to the Plant Sanitation Manager and indirectly to the Quality Manager. Develops and runs plant-wide Sanitation Programs across shifts and multiple processes. Assures all sanitation and pest control processes are in accordance with local, state, federal, and Kraft regulatory requirements and Kraft Good Sanitation Practices. Provides leadership for janitorial crews, period cleaning work groups, and participates in training and evaluation of crews involved in direct labor sanitation.

Overall support of sanitation activities throughout the plant including: Sanitation, Housekeeping, and Food Safety.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

Participates in collaborative effort and provides technical mentorship for both the prevention and resolution of sanitation related issues that may interfere with product quality. Assist in the analysis and investigation of micro-related issues, pre-operational inspections, and air and water micro-related issues(PEM/Non-PEM). Resolve equipment sanitation issues and provide alternate solutions so the job is performed accurately. Ensure documentation is current, accurate, complete, and to corporate standards. Coordinates and ensure completion of plant-wide period cleaning program by scheduling the contracted cleaning crew members needed to accomplish the tasks throughout the facility (PSS). Supports and serves as a resource for plant wide direct/variable cleaning by the plant manufacturing teams responsible for daily and weekly clean-up activities (Sanitation effectiveness). Provide training in sanitation theory and techniques adapting to different audiences including the contracted cleaning crew and new hires. Serve as a resource on CIP programs, cycles, temperatures, and chemical concentrations while working with the proper Technicians to obtain maximum results and efficiencies during CIP. Able to navigate PIN charts, P&IDs, flow paths, HMIs, and sanitary design requirements. Serve as the on-site Kraft liaison, in conjunction with the sanitation manager, for the contracted office and janitorial crew and serve as the plant liaison to the service contractor, direct landscaping and grounds maintenance. Responsible for janitorial services supplies, PO's, supervising weekly, monthly and yearly forecasting while identifying saving opportunities w/ suppliers. Serve as the site backup to the Sanitation Manager for the pest control program throughout the facility. This includes reviewing the performance of the outside pest control contractor and risk prevention for pest infestations at the manufacturing plant as well as the buffer warehouse. Coordinate passivation or any other task using hazardous chemicals while following the applicable Kraft safety rules and recommendations. Keeping track of chemical usage, titrations, and providing the proper reports. Ensure repairs are completed on foam stations, water hoses, and cleaning equipment while maintaining the proper stock of spare parts for all sanitation equipment used at the plant. Schedule all PMs and calibrations for sanitation equipment, floor scales, table scales, floor scrubbers, and in-line thermometers. Responsible for tracking, controlling, and supervising cleaning chemical concentrations for all foaming and sanitizer stations, High pressure systems and CIP skids (Critical PSS). Responsible for drain cleaning program, documenting, and updating. Work with the janitorial services provider on cleaning issues, restroom dispensers, and continuous improvement. Coordinate efforts to cultivate outstanding day-to-day facility housekeeping and appearance. Support CIP Validation/Verification, System Sanitizing, and other Sanitation trial processes. Responsible for review, tracking and trending of Pre/Post Operational documentation, ATP results and other sanitation documentation for completeness and defects. Responsible for the housekeeping, tracking & providing proper chemical supplies for the plant RTD sanitation. Call for Chemical delivery, if needed, and plan storage accordingly. Responsible for the empty drums return program, and maintenance of the cleaning chemical dispensing pumps. Responsible for supervising and maintaining all cleaning Utensils (brooms, pails, buckets, mops, etc.) for RTD business in good working conditions. Improving and updating sanitation equipment annually targeting better, safe and more efficient equipment (Cleaning Tools program). Perform internal and external audits as required. (Warehouse, QRMP, glass and brittle, and GMP) Support QRMP program and serve as a standard owner for QRMP Operational Standards as awarded ownership. Purchase supplies for sanitation activities. Maintain supply inventory on the mezzanine and the chemical cage. Receive supplies and perform invoice resolution. (ZBB) Purchase and maintain blanket purchase orders for landscaping, snow removal, janitorial, production cleaning, scale repair and calibration, thermometer calibration, scale purchase, lift rental, rug rental, signs, stickers, and perform invoice resolution. (ZBB) Able to fill in job responsibilities of the Sanitation Manager as needed. All other duties as assigned.

Other qualifications:

Understand and follow company and site policies and procedures on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), Hold Tags, HACCP, USDA/FDA, Foreign Material, Safety and Security.

Computer Literate, typing skills, and efficient with Microsoft Office Suite Excellent Safety Record Shown Leadership Skills Strong organizational skills Must be able to operate and obtain Forklift Operator license and Vertical Lift license Able to move heavy loads (55 gallon drums). Computer Literacy, typing skills, and MS Office skills required General knowledge and experience with CIP and cleaning techniques

Schedule:

A set schedule will be established and agreed upon at time of hire.

Position will be primarily first shift with minimum of one weekend day. Schedule may fluctuate to support plant cleaning needs.

Physical Considerations:

Requires frequent walking and extended periods of standing Ability to lift up to 65 lbs. Ability to climb Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required (steel-toed shoes, hair and beard nets, bump caps, gloves, eye protection, aprons etc.) Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) environment Environmental Considerations: Non-temperature-controlled environment Work-Life Balance Considerations: May be requested work occasional overtime (including weekends) Schedules are subject to change based on business needs
