The Plant Safety Coordinator will work directly with plant leadership, employees, contractors, and the EHS Manager to promote a proactive safety culture and ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
β OSHA 30-Hour General Industry Certification
β Current First Aid/CPR/AED Certification
β Minimum 3+ years of hands-on safety experience in manufacturing, industrial, automotive, chemical, warehousing, or similar General Industry environments
β Strong knowledge of OSHA General Industry regulations
β Experience conducting inspections, hazard assessments, safety observations, and incident investigations
β Experience supporting contractor safety programs and safety documentation
Preferred Qualifications
β OSHA 511 Certification
β ASP, OHST, CHST, or other recognized safety credentials
β 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification
β LOTO Training
β Confined Space Training
β Incident Investigation / Root Cause Analysis Training
β Powered Industrial Truck or Forklift Safety Training
β Automotive or Manufacturing Industry Experience
What You'll Be Doing
- Provide daily onsite safety oversight throughout manufacturing and plant operations
- Monitor employee and contractor compliance with OSHA General Industry requirements
- Conduct routine safety inspections, observations, and plant walkthroughs
- Identify hazards and coordinate corrective actions
- Monitor and enforce compliance with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) programs
- Monitor machine guarding, PPE, Hazard Communication, and electrical safety requirements
- Support confined space, hot work, and powered industrial truck safety programs
- Assist with Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs/JSAs), risk assessments, and pre-task safety planning
- Participate in incident, injury, near-miss, and hazard investigations
- Track corrective actions through completion
- Assist with employee and contractor safety orientations and training
- Support the EHS Manager with audits, inspections, and compliance initiatives
- Promote a proactive safety culture throughout plant operations
