Why This Opportunity?

Join a major industrial installation project supporting a large-scale manufacturing facility in a Lean Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) environment.

This is not a traditional compliance-focused enforcement role. Instead, this position offers the opportunity to serve as an Owner's Representative Safety Leader responsible for influencing project culture, coaching safety professionals, supporting collaborative planning systems, and helping drive continuous improvement across a complex industrial construction project.

The selected candidate will provide leadership to an established team of safety professionals while partnering with craft personnel, contractors, project leadership, and stakeholders to strengthen engagement, leading indicators, and Lean safety performance.

Required Qualifications

✔ 5+ years of construction safety management experience in a leadership role

✔ Experience leading, mentoring, or developing other safety professionals

✔ Proven ability to influence safety culture across contractors, craft personnel, and project leadership

✔ Experience supporting industrial construction, manufacturing, process equipment installation, or large-scale construction projects

✔ Owner's Representative safety experience

Preferred Qualifications

⭐ Experience supporting Lean Construction, Lean Delivery, IPD, Last Planner System®, or collaborative planning environments

⭐ Experience leading large contractor teams or multiple safety professionals

⭐ Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, or process-equipment installation projects

⭐ CHST, ASP, CSP, SMS, or other BCSP credential

⭐ Experience with leading indicator programs, behavioral observations, and proactive engagement initiatives

What You'll Be Doing

  • Provide daily leadership, coaching, and mentoring to craft personnel, subcontractors, and safety professionals
  • Influence and guide an established team of safety professionals toward a Lean, engagement-based safety culture
  • Integrate safety into Lean IPD systems, pull planning processes, and collaborative project workflows
  • Strengthen leading indicators, safety KPIs, and proactive engagement initiatives
  • Expand and improve near-miss reporting and hazard recognition programs
  • Champion proactive observation and hazard elimination initiatives
  • Lead contractor huddles, engagement meetings, and safety discussions
  • Support incident investigations, corrective actions, and performance improvement efforts
  • Align project activities with internal safety management systems and project requirements
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives consistent with Lean principles
  • Partner with project leadership to drive long-term cultural improvement across the project

What Success Looks Like

The ideal candidate is a respected safety leader who can influence both craft personnel and safety professionals through coaching, mentorship, and collaboration rather than enforcement alone.
