Under general supervision, develops, implements, monitors and evaluates occupational health and safety programs and ensures compliance with applicable workplace safety and environment regulations, safety mitigation agreements, injury and illness prevention program and district policies; conducts inspections, surveys and audits of district facilities and equipment, compiles data, prepares root cause analysis and recommendations; provides technical consultation and recommends corrective action; develops and presents safety training program to all District departments and promotes safe work practices. Performs other duties as assigned.
Progressively responsible directly related experience may be substituted for the required education at the ratio of two years of experience for one year of education required work experience in implementing professional occupational health and safety, workplace injury/illness prevention or risk management experience involving developing and implementing industrial hygiene, safety and accident prevention programs; conducting safety training; and compiling data and preparing root cause analysis.
A valid Class “A” driver’s license issued by State of California Department of Motor Vehicles may be required, as determined by supervision.
May be required to obtain Cal-OSHA certification as designated by supervision.
