Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager (EHS & manufacturing exp. req.) Description
Our client, a leader in chemical manufacturing, is looking for an experienced EHS Manager to join their team in the Greater Nashville Area. Reporting to the Director of Safety & Compliance, you’ll play a key role in leading and supporting environmental, health, safety, and regulatory programs across their facilities. In this role, you will help assess, design, and enhance EHS initiatives, driving a strong safety and compliance culture across the organization. The ideal candidate has experience leading safety programs in a chemical or plant-based manufacturing environment, with a proven ability to conduct root cause analysis, manage incident investigations, and implement corrective actions. A collaborative, hands-on approach will allow you to make a meaningful impact as the company continues to enhance its safety culture. Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager (EHS & manufacturing exp. req.) Responsibilities
• Develop safety programs in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulations
• Evaluate and update policies and SOPs to reflect regulatory changes and best practices
• Provide leadership and guidance for training, environmental compliance, and safety
• Promote employee engagement through committees, recognition, and participation programs
• Design and deliver onboarding and refresher safety training
• Coach and mentor staff on safety best practices and initiatives
• Conduct audits, inspections, and risk assessments implementing corrective actions as needed
• Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and development of preventive measures
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive safety improvements
• Conduct behavior-based safety observations and provide actionable feedback
• Analyze safety metrics to identify high-risk areas and recommend preventive measures
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and enhance overall safety culture
Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager (EHS & manufacturing exp. req.) Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree required
• 5+ years of EHS experience within manufacturing required
• Proven experience leading safety initiatives in a plant setting required
• Skilled in root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions required
• Experience conducting safety and compliance audits required
