SUMMARY:

The Environmental Health & Safety Specialist is responsible for performing a variety of routine and complex administrative and technical tasks that support plant safety and compliance. The Environmental Health & Safety Specialist works closely with Operations and Engineering to plan, develop, administer, and maintain key components of the Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) management system. This role safeguards employees, delivers comprehensive training, and identifies resources needed to effectively manage and reduce risk across the facility.
 

HOURS: Monday - Friday 7:00pm - 3:00pm

WHAT YOU’LL DO: 

  • Assist with the development, implementation, and adherence to the company’s safety programs, standards, and
  • Facilitate the plant safety committee, safety committee meetings, and action
  • Develop and deliver training.
  • Perform audits, risk assessments, & Job hazard analysis to identify and mitigate risk to
  • Responsible for executing the IH sampling plan at the direction of the EHS Manager.
  • Proactively leads all plant employees in operating within a safe, injury-free environment.
  • Provides a continuous safety presence across all areas of the plant.
  • Participate in plant compliance by completing safety audits and tracking follow-up corrective actions.
  • Trends safety performance and statistics to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Excellent interpersonal and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to facilitate and conduct safety training sessions in a manner understandable to a wide variety of constituencies.
  • High degree of professionalism and discretion in contacts with plant, corporate, and external agencies.
  • Other duties as assigned

WHAT YOU’LL BRING: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health or equivalent.
  • GSP, ASP or CSP certifications a plus.
  • 2-5 years of experience in an industrial environment
  • Ability to work well under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet
  • Detail oriented, with exceptional problem-solving, planning, and organizational
  • Must be able to navigate in a windows-based computer environment to include Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and
