Overview

Consider joining the Pennex family as a Continuous Improvement and Quality Manager.  The Continuous Improvement and Quality Manager is responsible for driving operational excellence, strengthening quality systems, and leading initiatives that reduce waste, improve processes, and elevate product or service performance. This position is responsible for quality assurance related to the production of aluminum cast products consistent with customer requirements, industry specifications and standards. 

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Leads the Greenville total quality responsibility to include but not limited to Quality Management System (QMS) and product quality.  
  • Leads and partners with the operations team on identifying opportunities, problem solving for upset conditions, and completing corrective actions to internal and external customers in a timely fashion.  
  • Being the representative that understands the voice of the customer and designing processes to meet their needs. 
  • Responsible for responding to Internal Audit findings. 
  • Responsible for leading customer audits.  
  • Familiar with Lean techniques and ability to take direction from Pennex strategic approach. 
  • Uses Lean Tools, Statistical Techniques and analytical methods to achieve effective problem solving, root cause discovery and corrective action. 
  • Provides technical leadership of process improvement and maintaining process checks for ensuring product quality including electronic records.  
  • Responsible for the development of quality objectives necessary to support Key Result Area (KRA) plans. 
  • Manages and coordinates the Returned Material Authorization (RMA) and Customer Complaint Notification (CCN) activities with input from Sales, Customer Service and Manufacturing groups. 
  • Assists in the implementation of policies, operating procedures, quality systems and programs which define processes relative to creating product that meets or exceeds customers quality expectations.    
  • Responsible for site escalation for product quality.  
  • Performs other duties as assigned.  

 

Qualifications

Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor's degree (B. S./B. A.) in a related technical field from four-year college or university 
  • Five or more years manufacturing quality leadership experience required.  Aluminum Casting experience preferred  
  • Experience with Quality Management System and implementation 
  • Experience with Statistical tools and Lean Manufacturing principles 

 

Required Skills/Abilities: 

  • ISO Experience/ IATF preferred  
  • ERP/MRP experience .  D365 is preferred  
  • Lean or Six Sigma certification is preferred  
  • A desire to work in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing environment  
  • Highly motivated, self-driven, and eager to learn and apply new skills  
  • Attentive to details and follows through on assigned tasks and commitments  
  • Flexible and driven to meet deadlines, handle multiple projects and prioritize them appropriately  
  • Strong organizational skills, and ability to effectively disseminate information in a clear and concise manner  
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations  
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, vendors and employees of the organization  
  • Ability to create perform data analysis; define problems, collect data, establish facts, use of pareto/ run chart to identify leading indicators.  Problem solving to restore the standard.    
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen  
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States, visa sponsorships are not available  
  • Must have regular attendance

Our salary ranges are primarily determined by role, level, and location. The range provided for each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations.
